RALLY INTRODUCTION & GENERAL INFORMATION

Please join Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey for the most historical event of 2008, the Green Our Vaccines Rally. Jenny and Jim are working hard to eliminate all toxins from our children’s vaccines and have our national health agencies reassess the mandatory vaccine schedule, as our children are receiving TOO MANY, TOO SOON.

While Jenny and Jim support the vaccine program, like many, they feel vaccines are too toxic.This country has the ability to provide a safer vaccine supply and schedule to our children and they ask you to join them to demand this for our country’s greatest asset, to our children!

Demand Congress take action to Green Our Vaccine Supply while reassessing our current vaccine schedule. Ask Congress to reenact legislation that would eliminate mercury and other toxins from our children’s vaccines, study the instance of Autism and other neurological disorders in vaccinated versus unvaccinated children, and to extend the statute of limitations to allow all children affected by vaccine induced Autism to file in the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP).

You must register online to attend the Rally.We will start lining up for the March at 9 a.m. at the corner of 4th Street SW, and C Street SW, just past the Holiday Inn Parking (Colonial Parking)

.There will be a large number of people, so it is very important for all marchers to be on time so we can assemble and go over instructions. We will be in motion at 10 a.m.For those who cannot march, you can meet us at the rally site in front of the of the Capitol Building, West Capitol Grounds.

There will be a team of rally staff, that will be easily identifiable, to guide you and inform you of all marching rules and regulations.

It is vital that you register for the March and Rally. Special thanks and appreciation to the team of volunteers & family participation to make this event happen beyond words.

::Walk Now For Autism Pictures::

Well, we did it!!! All 3.2 miles of it. Noah did really well, although he was a bit shy at first. There was about 500 people there. It was great exercise, as we walked 2 times around the track & through the town of Sumner. People were wearing group tee-shirts, plus we also earned tee-shirts of our own by raising money for Autism Speaks. For our group, called Noah & Co.-- I made these cute puzzle piece tags with Noahs picture on it, on a blue ribbon. A good friend of mine, Earleen, came & walked along with us. :) (Thanks again, Earleen!)

Austim Awareness signs were everywhere in the city of Sumner, people were so supportive & it was AWESOME just to be able to come together with the other family/friends to raise money for a great cause! :) :)

Autism Speaks has given Starbucks customers something to think about today as co-founder Bob Wright's reflections appear on Starbucks white cups across North America as part of “The Way I See It” program. Wright's quote, #264, urges parents to learn the signs of autism and act early if they suspect their child is experiencing a developmental delay.

The message appears on over 5 million venti-sized cups across the United States. “Starbucks offers a warm and inviting environment for the dissemination of knowledge and ideas over a great cup of coffee, which was the inspiration for “The Way I See It” program,” said Tricia Moriarty, a Starbucks spokesperson. “We are pleased to have Bob Wright contribute to “The Way I See It” in order to share his personal acumen with Starbucks customers.”The cup says: Every 20 minutes-less time than it will take you to drink your coffee-another child is diagnosed with autism. It's much more common than people think, with 1 out of every 150 children diagnosed.

Autism Speaks is getting ready for its annual signature event, Walk for Autism Research on June 16, 2007. I am planning to be a part of that Walk and I am asking you to join me in raising critically-needed funds for autism research by making a contribution in support of my Walk.

Autism is a complex brain disorder that often inhibits a person's ability to communicate, respond to surroundings, or form relationships with others. First identified more than 50 years ago, autism is typically diagnosed by the age of two or three. Autism affects people of all racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Few disorders are as devastating to a child and his or her family. While some people with autism are mildly affected, most people with the condition will require lifelong supervision and care and have significant language impairments. Many children with autism will never be able to tell their parents they love them.

Currently, the causes of autism are unknown and there are no specific medical treatments or cure. Physicians have no blood test or scan that can definitively diagnose the disorder. As such, the diagnosis of autism is based solely upon observations of behavior. Despite increasing national interest and high prevalence, autism research is one of the lowest funded areas of medical research by both public and private sources.
